Idir grew to become worldwide famous together with his lullaby “Vava Inouva” within the 1970s making a comeback in 1993.
Inside a tribute towards the singer, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune known as him a symbol of Algerian art and stated: “Algeria loses certainly one of its monuments”.
A publish on his official Facebook page announced the dying.
“We regret to announce the passing in our father (to any or all), Idir on Saturday 2 May at 2130. Rest in peace father,” it read.
Idir increased up encircled through the songs and rhythms from the Kabyle people but was studying to become geologist until an opportunity appearance on condition radio in 1973.
