Coronavirus: Boeing to cut 15,000 jobs in ‘body blow’
Boeing intends to cut 10% of their workforce, saying the Covid-19 pandemic had delivered it a "body blow".
The battling US plane maker employs 150,000 people worldwide and it was already pressurized after having to ground its 737 Max planes following two fatal crashes.
The coronavirus outbreak has brought to some collapse in airline travel.
BA stated it'll cut 12,000 jobs while Airbus known as it the "gravest crisis" the has "seen".
Boeing's leader Dave Calhoun stated inside a memo to staff the pandemic is "delivering an appearance blow to the business" and interest in commercial air travel travel "has fallen off a high cliff".
He cautioned: "The aviation industry will require years to go back to the amount of traffic we had only a couple of several weeks ago."
