Google has removed 17 Android applications from the official distribution service platform -Play Store. The 17 apps were have contracted the Joker adware and spyware, also is known as Bread adware and spyware. The safety researchers at Zscaler, that is a California-based IT security company, identified these malicious apps.
“This spy ware is made to steal SMS messages, contact lists, and device information, together with quietly registering the victim for premium wireless application protocol (WAP) services,” Zscaler security investigator Viral Gandhi stated.
When Google was notified concerning the 17 malicious apps that plan to gain unauthorised accessibility users’ data, the business’s Android Security team required prompt action to get rid of the apps in the Play Store.
But there have been still as many as around 120,000 downloads for that identified malicious apps, as Zscaler noted inside a blog publish.
