Five of internet retail giant Amazon’s foreign websites happen to be put on a blacklist through the Trump administration.
Its e-commerce platforms within the United kingdom, Germany, France, India and Canada happen to be put into a “notorious markets” register.
The United States trade representative’s office stated the websites facilitated the purchase of counterfeit and pirated products.
Amazon . com stated the move was politically motivated which has invested heavily to avoid illegal activities.

As the list carries no legal weight, it puts the spotlight on individuals companies incorporated onto it, especially when they’re big names like Amazon . com.
Amazon . com described the inclusion of their sites like a “political act” motivated by President Jesse Trump’s apparent dislike of Shaun Bezos, its founder and leader.
“This purely political act is yet another illustration of the administration using the federal government to succeed an individual vendetta against Amazon . com,” the organization stated inside a statement.
The internet shopping giant also stated it’s made significant investments in technology to prevent counterfeit products from being offered on its platforms. Amazon’s US website was excluded in the list.
Based on the report, complaints stated the Amazon . com sites didn’t provide obvious details about sellers which the procedure to get rid of platforms selling counterfeit goods was “lengthy and burdensome”.
In Amazon’s statement it stated it’d invested considerably in tackling the issue, coupled with blocked greater than 6 billion bad listings before these were printed towards the platform this past year.
“We are an energetic, engaged stakeholder in fighting against counterfeit,” an Amazon . com spokesperson added.
Mr Trump has frequently clashed with Amazon . com and personally with Mr Bezos, the master of the Washington Publish newspaper. Previously Mr Trump has stated that Amazon . com doesn’t pay enough in taxes.
