JALNA: Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope announced that citizens is going to be covered underneath the condition government’s health plan, and Maharashtra would be the first condition to supply free and cashless insurance protection to the people.
Talking with reporters following a Maharashtra Day event in Jalna on Friday, Tope stated 85 percent from the state’s population was covered underneath the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jan Arogya Yojana (MJPJAY) at the moment and also the cover is going to be extended towards the remining 15 ..
A memorandum was signed to incorporate government, semi- government employees and white-colored ration card holders within the plan inside a bid to avoid nursing homes from overcharging patients, he stated.
“The federal government has signed a MoU using the General Insurance Public Sector Association (GIPSA) to treat COVID-19 patients at nursing homes in Pune and Mumbai,” he stated.
Similarly, different packages is going to be created for all illnesses, to standardise treatment charges whatsoever hospitals, the minister stated.
Earlier, 496 hospitals were covered within the plan, however over 1,000 hospitals can come under it, he stated.
As reported by the Disaster Management Act and Epidemic Act, the condition government has capped the charges of COVID-19 treatment at nursing homes, the minister stated.
Hospitals that do not have tie-ups using the GIPSA can also get to standardise their treatment charges, he added.
