Arijit Singh was born in West Bengal to a Bengali mom and Punjabi father. He hails from a musical household background as his mom, grandmother and sister all are very effective singers. He has three gurus, Dhirendra Prasad Hazari who taught him Tabla, Rajendra Prasad Hazari who taught Indian classical music and Birendra Prasad Hazar taught him pop music and Rabindrasangeet.
