His NFL Career

Jon Embree’s NFL career spanned over two decades, both as a player and a coach. After playing college football at Eastern Illinois University, Embree was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the second round of the 1988 draft. He played for the Colts for four seasons before spending time with the Minnesota Vikings and Philadelphia Eagles. In 2002, he became head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he led them to their first ever playoff appearance. In 2008, Embree moved to the Washington Redskins and stayed there until his retirement in 2013. During his career, Embree won three division titles (with Jacksonville in 2002 and 2003, and Washington in 2007), two conference championships (Washington in 2007 and 2010), and one Super Bowl championship (Washington in 2005). In total, he amassed a record of 192-154 (.549). After retiring from coaching, Embree began working as an analyst for ESPN.

The Transition to Coaching

The life and career of Jon Embree is an interesting case study in the transition from playing football to coaching. After spending a decade as an NFL player, Embree decided to make the switch to coaching in 2003. He quickly realized that the transition was far more difficult than he had anticipated, and for many years he struggled to make a significant impact on his teams.

However, over time, Embree’s hard work and determination paid off. In 2011, he was named head coach of the Arizona Cardinals, and after two successful seasons he was given the opportunity to take over as head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Under his leadership, the Jaguars reached the playoffs in both 2014 and 2015.

Embree’s success as a coach is undoubtedly due in part to his unique perspective as a player and coach. As a player, he was able to learn from some of the best coaches in history, while also developing his own style of play. As a coach, he is able to pass on these lessons learned along with his own experiences to his players.

Embree’s Millionaire Status

Embree is a millionaire and has been living the high life ever since he retired from coaching in the NFL. He now spends his time traveling the world, enjoying life to the fullest and making investments that have made him one of the richest people in the world.

Embree was born in Missouri on March 30, 1958. After playing football at Truman State University, Embree earned his coaching career start as an assistant coach at Division II Valdosta State from 1983 until 1988. He then moved on to be an assistant coach for two seasons at Southern Illinois from 1989 until 1991 before being hired as head coach at Florida Atlantic University where he would stay for six seasons. Embree’s success with FAU led to him being hired as the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2003, where he would remain for two seasons before retiring after winning Super Bowl XXXIX against Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.

After his retirement from coaching, Embree started investing in real estate and other ventures which have made him a millionaire many times over. He currently resides in Boca Raton, Florida with his wife Christine and their three children.

What Else is in store for Jon Embree?

Embree is set to retire from coaching after this season and has turned his attention to business ventures, including a restaurant in Detroit and a golf course in Texas. He also plans to start a charity focused on helping at-risk youth. In addition, Embree is working on a book about his life and career.

Embree began his NFL coaching career with the Indianapolis Colts in 2000, leading them to an 8-8 record. After two seasons with the Colts, he was hired as the head coach of the Chicago Bears in 2002. Under Embree’s leadership, the Bears made it all the way to Super Bowl XLI before losing to the Miami Dolphins.

In 2006, Embree was fired by the Bears after posting a 2-14 record over two seasons. He then served as interim head coach for the Oakland Raiders for one season before returning to Chicago as their defensive coordinator in 2009. In 2010, he was given his own head coaching job with the Kansas City Chiefs but only lasted three seasons before being fired again.

Embree will retire from coaching at the end of this season and has already started planning his post-career ventures. Among them is opening a restaurant in Detroit called Johnny O’Brien’s and investing in a golf course in Texas called The Links at Cedar Hill. In addition, he’s working on a book about his life and career that should be released sometime next year.
