MLS and players reach agreement on new CBA

Major League Soccer which is players struck and agreement Friday night around the reworked collective bargaining agreement which will explain the 2027 season.

The league had invoked a pressure majeure clause in December to reopen negotiations inside the current CBA, citing ongoing uncertainty because of the COVID-19 crisis.

Major League Soccer has mentioned it lost nearly $1 billion last season, due partially for the pandemic since it performed in mostly empty stadiums with elevated costs for testing and charter flights. The league mentioned it expects similar losses this year.
