Romeo Santos was born in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on July 18th, 1978. He was raised by his mother and stepfather after his father abandoned the family when Romeo was just two years old. Santos began his musical career at a young age, performing in local talent shows and competitions. After winning several awards, he released his first album in 2001.
Santos quickly became one of Brazil’s most popular recording artists and enjoyed considerable success worldwide. He has since released eight albums, including three number one hits on the Brazilian charts.
